Great food and wonderful staff. Kids love the chips!
When we discovered it and had to drive all the way back, they remade her food, but incredibly haphazardly. There was no cheese whatsoever in her enchiladas, just some gnarly looking pasta, almost completely empty. Needless to say we will be filing a formal complaint regarding our customer service in addition to this review.
I was surprised by the quality of the tacos for the price. I ordered the variety taco plate, and two of the three were of average quality while the third (pork) was above average in taste. In addition, the rice and beans side was very expensive. While not unappetizing, the quality of the food for the price was not what I was expecting.
Been here a few times. Have lived in multiple neighborhoods in Chicago for ten years prior and eaten at about 50 small taco shops and a half dozen nice Mexican dinner places. I was very happy that even though we were moving to a less urban area there was a Mexican place down the street. It's a staple in our family diet. I was really rooting for this place. I was even excited to see it finally stated opening on Sundays. However.. This place is a joke and the owner is a prick. I can deal with average food that is sometimes terrible or sometimes ok (Read - completely inconsistent). What I cannot deal with is some hot head telling my wife that she ordered 3 orders of tacos instead of 3 tacos and then acting aggressively agitated about it in a disrespectful manner. First off... no one knows what an "order" of tacos is except people that go to taco bell. Second off when someone says three tacos they mean three tacos, not nine.In my experience any kind of "special" or "combo" is two tacos. I was very tempted to drive up there and address this in person but my wife convinced me to open a yelp account just to leave this review instead. You can check - I have not written any other reviews ever. This dude is the worst. It's just not cool at all to act irritated with a customer. I mean.. I live down the street.. Even though there is sour cream in the guacamole I could have looked past that. I was defending the super stupid burrito sauce covering my wife's burrito when she told me the story and I almost threw my soggy taco in the trash. I'm just mad I even have to drive by it on my way home from work everyday. What a blight on the face of a nice little town.
Small rant here, but well deserved. Possibly the worst customer service of my life. At least they were nice about it I guess, thus granting one star instead of zero. We ordered at about 6:15 p.m. on a Monday through grubhub, estimated pickup time was 6:31-6:41 p.m. When we got there at 6:55, they hadn't started our order yet. Granted, the waitress did bring out multiple plates of food as soon as we got there so they must have been a little behind. Forgivable, that's fine, people get behind.
Awesome little restaurant. Recommended for groups or a quick bite! The staff is great and very accomodating.
The clock starts ticking, and before I know it, they're handing me an order that isn't mine around 7:20. I say this isn't mine, please try again. They confirm our order and begins making it. I sigh and accept. When it finally comes out around 7:30, my girlfriend's vegetarian tostada and enchiladas had nothing but ground beef in them. She was livid. It clearly specified on the order that it was from the vegetarian menu and we confirmed with a screenshot from grubhub.
