We stayed in the pebble Beach suite on the night of our wedding, it was a beautiful room and the hotel made us feel very special. Would definitely go back.
A friend and I had dinner at the Erie Grill. The food and service were both fantastic. It is relatively small, so there isn't much on the way of privacy, but the atmosphere was still great and the food was really work it.
I selected the Del Monte versus the Woodcliff for a special occasion and was not disappointed. From the warm greeting and tour of the facilities to the pre-massage amenties - it was definitely a peaceful environment to de-stress and unwind. I will definitely book my next massage at the Del Monte.
Great staff. Rooms are very nice. Reminds me of upscale European hotels.
I stayed at the hotel for several days. In that time I ate in at the restaurant, went to the spa, went to the bar, and ordered room service. Everything was very good. The staff was excellent all around with one exception which soured the experience. The evening I ordered room service it was brought up to the room by a very friendly server. I looked over the bill and found that a large service charge of, if I remember correctly, 18% had been added to the bill. Since that is a common amount to tip I asked the server if she received that money. She made it very clear that the charge was collected by the hotel and she didn't see a penny of it. So, I added a tip. This made the service charge plus tip nearly 40% on the already inflated room service menu prices for a full meal including a glass of wine. Needless to say it was the only room service meal I ordered, I walked to a pizza place to get a take out slice the following evening. When I was leaving I found the paperwork from the room service and noticed that the fee that I was told by the less than honest server was not for her was actually collected by the hotel so they can pay those involved in room service a higher wage. So, the server wasn't being paid a wage that relied on tips yet she made it seem like a tip was required. I would have still tipped, just a smaller amount. I feel like I was duped into paying someone a tip equal to a sit down meal on top of their regular pay for what amounted to no more than 10-15 minutes of work. No wonder she told me room service nights are her favorite part of her job! In the scheme of things it's not a big deal and not something to dwell on but keep in mind if you stay at the del monte and order room service a tip is not required no matter what sort of guilt trip the server throws your way.
